IIHS Names 2017 Highlander Top Safety Pick+

In one of our earlier blogs, we announced that the Toyota brand has been awarded more Top Safety Pick ratings than any other brand! And they aren’t done, as the 2017 Toyota Highlander has been named a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. To earn this award, a vehicle must complete five IIHS crashworthiness tests (roof strength, side, small overlap front, head restraints, and moderate overlap front) and achieve a “good” rating on each one. It must also achieve an acceptable headlight rating along with an advanced rating for front crash prevention. The 2017 Toyota Highlander managed to do all of this, and even more impressively, with only its standard features! Most vehicles require optional features to achieve this rating. “Toyota is firmly committed to a wide range of initiatives further enhancing the safety of Toyota vehicles and peace of mind for our customers,” said Jeff Makarewicz, Toyota’s North American Vehicle, Quality & Safety Engineering Group Vice President. “This sincere dedication to safety by our engineers resulted in another IIHS Top Safety pick for Toyota.” Check out the list of Toyota Top Safety Picks below and schedule your test drive at DELLA Toyota in Plattsburgh today! 2017 Toyota TOP SAFETY PICK+ winners: Toyota Highlander Toyota Prius (built after Aug. 2016) Toyota Corolla Toyota Camry Toyota Prius v Toyota RAV4 2017 Toyota TOP SAFETY PICK winners: Toyota Yaris iA Toyota Avalon "IIHS Top Safety Pick+ Award Comes Standard on the 2017 Toyota Highlander." Toyota Leads 2017 IIHS Awards

The 2017 Top Safety Pick awards have been announced and DELLA Toyota in Plattsburgh is proud to announce that Toyota topped the annual list with seven total awards! This year, the criteria was even tougher, with a new headlight evaluation. To be chosen as a Top Safety Pick, a vehicle had to score a “good” rating in five crashworthiness tests, as well as offer a front crash prevention system and quality headlights. To earn the Top Safety Pick+ distinction, a vehicle had to achieve a “superior” or “advanced” rating in front crash prevention along with having an automatic braking system. “At Toyota, our focus remains on the safety and peace of mind of our customers,” said Dino Triantafyllos, Toyota’s North American Chief Quality Officer. “We are proud that our commitment to developing safe and reliable vehicles resulted in such a strong showing in 2017 TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards”. 2017 Top Safety Pick+ Winners: Toyota Prius Toyota Corolla Toyota Camry Toyota Prius v Toyota RAV4 2017 Top Safety Pick Winners: Toyota Yaris iA Toyota Avalon Test drive any of these vehicles at DELLA Toyota in Plattsburgh today!

Toyota Recognized as Top Automaker By R&D

Toyota is highly regarded in the automotive industry as one of the forward thinkers in innovations, and last week at R&D Magazine’s annual R&D 100 Awards, they proved it. Toyota was recognized as the top automaker and awarded for its achievements. Toyota was recognized for two technologies including automotive electronics power cooling and omnidirectional structural color, while the Toyota Research Institute was awarded for their work in hybrid and electric vehicle technology. Finally, Toyota Motor Corporation was celebrated for their advancements in thermal cooling in the Land Cruiser Prado. “As companies in the automotive industry transform themselves into broader mobility providers, no auto company better demonstrates innovation and technology for the future than Toyota,” said Jeff Makarewicz, senior vice president, Toyota Technical Center (TTC), Toyota’s North American research & development headquarters.  “We’re focused on delivering great experiences for our customers, a cornerstone of Toyota’s product commitment, and this recognition is proof we’re living up to that promise.” Congratulations to Toyota on this impressive recognition! DELLA Toyota in Plattsburgh is excited to see how this ingenuity betters our Toyota Vehicles. "Toyota Top Automaker at 2016 R&D100 Awards | Toyota." The Toyota Camry: American-Made, American-Loved

Looking for a car that is American-made and ultra-dependable? Look no further than the Toyota Camry! For the second time in a row, Cars.com has listed the Camry as the most American-made and the best-selling car in the country. This is sixth time overall that the Camry has made the list. The Toyota Sienna also made the list and came in at number three. “This recognition from Cars.com is a tribute to Toyota employees, not only those at the plant who build the Camry but the broader Toyota team who design, engineer, market and finance the vehicle in the United States,” said Bob Carter, Toyota senior vice president of automotive operations. “We also support local suppliers and economies, and we have invested more than $6 billion into our Kentucky operations alone, which is growing with our new production engineering campus under construction there.” All vehicles on the cars.com American-Made Index must meet specific requirements which include having at least 75 percent of parts made domestically and the car must be assembled in the U.S. Domestic sales are also taken into consideration. "America's Best-Selling Car Still Most 'American-Made' | Toyota." Toyota USA Newsroom. Toyota, 28 June 2016. Web. 30 June 2016.
