Toyota & Serious Eats Dream Date
In two of our previous blogs we have shared the ultimate date night experiences that are being brought to six couples courtesy of Toyota and Serious Eats. In each of the episodes, couples are being treated to a night out at one of the most popular restaurants in their home city where the head chef will be providing them with a one-of-a-kind personal dining experience.
In episode three, two couples from Chicago are being whisked away in the 2016 Toyota Sienna to have their date night at the popular restaurant Topolobampo run by talented Chef Rick Bayless. As each of the couples head off to dinner in the Sienna they discuss what the night and good food means to them. Additionally, we see Chef Bayless taking the 2016 Sienna out earlier in the day to pick up some extra ingredients and discuss his passion for cooking and the kind of experience he hopes to bring people at Topolobampo.

2017 Toyota Highlander is Safer and More Powerful
The Toyota Highlander has always dominated the midsized SUV segment due to its comfort, efficiency, and reliability. With the release of the 2017 model, Toyota is stepping things up even further, by increasing the Highlander’s safety and performance.
The new 2017 Toyota Highlander will include an Eight-Speed Transmission and a higher-horsepower 3.5 Liter V6 engine. It will also have an array of new available safety features, like the Toyota’s Safety Sense P suite of safety features. This suite includes lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and pre-collision warning with automatic emergency braking. The pedestrian pre-collision system is also available, which uses radar and a camera to tell the driver when to break using audio and visual signals.

Toyota and Serious Eats Teams Up for Dream Date
Toyota and Serious Eats are back with the next installment of their series of the Culinary Dream Date. This episode begins by following Jamie Bissonette, head chef at Toro, a Spanish-influenced tapas restaurant in the South End of Boston as he prepares for couple Genie and Adam’s dream date. Jamie spends the day driving around in the Toyota Sienna, and explains that working in the restaurant business requires you to own a car that is easily maneuverable, easy to park, and has cargo room for staff and supplies. He remarks that the Toyota Sienna exceeds all of these expectations, and after not owning a car for ten years, this vehicle made him want to buy a new car!

Date Night with Toyota & Serious Eats
When Serious Eats decided that they wanted to provide couples in six different cities with a unique dining experience in a top local culinary hot spot, they decided to turn to Toyota in order to truly make this a completely memorable experience. For each outing, the couples were provided with a chauffeured ride in a 2016 Toyota Sienna that brought them to and from their dining destination in style.
Recently, two couples (London & Justin and Sophie & Neal) were treated to a night out in Venice, California where they enjoyed an evening at LEONA. While there, they were able to interact one-on-one with Chef Nyesha Arrington while enjoying a custom menu that she had handpicked especially for this evening. All of the dishes she prepared were inspired by some of her favorite comfort foods and were made from ingredients that she had purchased at the local farmers market.

Toyota Supports Driver Safety Education Program
As we know, we are our kids’ biggest role models. And while we may not realize it, they are even watching us when we are behind the wheel. Children learn driving habits much earlier than we think, as soon as the child’s car seat can turn to face front.
That’s why Toyota is teaming up with Safety City, a safety education program for second and third graders that blends classroom instruction with real-world driving experiences. Toyota is donating $49,000 toward ten kid-sized electric cars which will help students get a hands-on experience and carry good driving habits over to when they do get on the road.
For Toyota, supporting programs like Safety City is an obvious choice. “We believe everyone deserves to be safe, and we want to be a part of helping keep people safe, on and off the road,” said Wil James, president of Toyota’s Kentucky plant. “That’s a priority for us, and it’s why we’re investing in programs like Safety City.”

Toyota Announces February Sales
Toyota Motor Sales announced their February 2016 numbers last week. They reported a 4.1 percent increase from February 2015, totaling 187,954 vehicles sold. The daily selling rate basis was also 4.1 percent since February 2015 and February 2016 had an equal number of selling days.
Here are some of the highlights:
- Combined Toyota light truck sold 94,864 units, up 9.7 percent
- RAV4 sold 25,523 units, up 16 percent with best February sales ever
- Highlander sold 12,466 units, also had best February ever
- 4Runner and Sienna up 32 and 5.5 percent respectively
- Tacoma sold 14,172 units, up 14.5 percent
